Note: Self Neglect is not considered as neglect if
it is a voluntary decision of mentally stable senior to commit such actions and
threaten their safety or life.
Physical Abuse

It is the forced injury, pain, or impairment caused to the elder one with external
physical force. If you are physically harmed by kicking, shaking, hitting,

verbal or nonverbal acts. NCEA specifies that this type of elder abuse can
include threats, insults, harassment, or any act of verbal abuse.

provide necessities and life goods to the dependent elder. Such as food, water,
clothes, hygiene, medicine, shelter. Neglect may also include financial abuse
in the form of a family member who is not providing enough money to the
dependent for the basic needs and health care.
Abandonment
It is the most extreme type of elder abuse and neglect by caregivers. We can normally this extreme abuse everywhere in which seniors are abandoned in their homes, hospitals, nursing homes, or adult caring facilities.
